My Alternative Ending

This all starts before Dr. Rank is about to leave.


And action.......

Rank. You? Well, if you want me to sleep well! And thanks for the light. [walking to the door]
Nora: [in a hoarse voice] Wait!
Rank: [stops and turns around with a sad smile] Yes Nora
Nora: [Approaching him] I know what your doing. Your saying your goodbyes you cant leave like this Rank.
Helmer: [confused] What do you mean Rank is saying his goodbyes? Is this true Rank?
Rank: [ refusing to make eye contact with Helmer] I am going to die soon? This is my way of saying goodbye. I don't want to have to see my dear best friend be in pain when leave this world soon. Goodbye my dear friend. [heading to the door]
Nora: You can't leave [rushing to the door, blocking his way to go through]
Rank: Well, why not [questioning]
Nora: Because...... [trying to find words to come out of her mouth but stops when she gets lost in the sight of his eyes] Because.......
Helmer: Because why Nora? [annoyed]
Nora: [ In a loud whisper] Because I Nora Helmer is deeply in love with you Rank. You can't leave like this. I love you to much for you to leave in this heart breaking way. [letting a tear roll down all the way down her neck.]
[Both Rank and Torvald say this at the same time]
Rank: You....   You love me? [with a sad but big smile]
Helmer: You love him? [confused]
Nora: [Truthfully] Yes I have loved you since the day I have meet you. I can't bear to see you leave like this after everything we have been through, you can't just leave like this. [Another tear rolling down her cheek] And yes Trovald I do love him [Turning to face him] more than you will every learn to do in your life.
Rank: [repeatedly] L-O-V-E You love me? [his smile gets bigger] She loves me [going to Nora and hugs her]
Nora: [happily] Yes I do love you., and as long as you and I shall stay alive I want to spend it with you.
Helmer: [clearing his voice] I believe that that little plan of yours may not work out ask you plan. [in a anger but calm voice]
[Nora was freaking out she had forgotten that she was still married to Helmer and that he was still in the room. She was fighting with her mind and heart. Her heart said to be with the person she loves which is Dr. Rank. And her mind said that Helmer was the one because he was after all her husband and the father of her children. But is that who she wanted to be with.]
Nora:  You may be my husband but that does not mean that I love you. And indeed that is the fact. I don't love you and I no longer wish to be with you Helmer. [wiping the two tears away] I want to be in  relationship that is not even real. I want something real and someone is willing to help me make it real. I no longer wish to be with you and don't worry anymore you a free man to do as you wish. [turning away to get an already packed suitcase] I am sorry but here is your ring back and i have mine. [handing her the ring back]
Helmer: But you can not do this I love you. What about our children? What about all those years together?
Nora: The children don't need me they have the nanny. And as for you, you don't know what love is and all those years that I have spend with you have been nothing but big fat lies. [heading to the door with Dr. Rank by her side] Goodbye Helmer I hope you have a good life and take care of the children foe me.
Helmer: But wait you cant leave [wanting a miracle to occur]
Nora: Goodbye [the door shuts closed startling Helmer]
Helmer: She gone [putting his face in his hands] She's finally out of my life [getting up and laughing] I finally free of that scatterbrain [laughs and for the first time actually smiles and laughs for real]
Nora: [walking away with Dr. Rank] I am finally free [she shouts] I love you Rank [Smiling and giving him a kiss]

Act Dos

What happens when you love someone but want to be with another person? More importantly what if that person you love is about to die?  Well that's what is happening in ACT 2 from the play "A Doll's House". After being threatened by Krogstad, Nora tries to find ways into solving her problem. I mean if  there is always a will there is  always a way right.
 First she thinks that's she might be able to get money from her best friend Dr. Rank. But after thinking about it she changes her mind. What would you do if your husbands best friend confesses his love to you? What would you do and how would you react? Well Nora being Nora acted weirdly and she had told Dr. "Rank "You see there are some people that one loves and others that perhaps one would be with"(197 Ibsen.) This reminds me of what a famous person had said.

If I was Nora I would have chosen Dr. Rank because I rather be with someone that loves me instead of someone that calls me feather brain. But I also see why Nora stays with and its because he reminds her of her dead father (may he rest in peace).

After the disreputable of Krogstad coming over to Nora's house again he had told Nora that he go his letter that he wont be working at the bank anymore. He had asked Nora if she had thoughts about about running away or even anything worst. She had said yes because if i were to live back in those old days i would have felt ashamed and took the easy way out. After hearing hat you can tell that Krogstad was worried, he didn't feel that she needed to kill her self. What would happen to her children that she would leave behind? How would they get over the fact that there mother had killed her self because of blackmail. How would Helmer react to the truth after her killing herself? How would the excruciating pain effect her children? If I would have been Nora i would have told my husband the truth about everything that i had done behind his back i would have wanted him to accept the fact that i had done that . I mean whats done is done right you can't change that.

Do you know what is ironic about this act? Nora has to dance the tarantella. Which is a rapid whirling southern Italian dance in very quick sextuple, originally quadruple, meter, usually performed by a single couple. In which this case the tarantella explains how her life is spinning out of control. First she is went behind her husband's back, forged a signature, and borrowed money from Krogstad. Then she has to worry about Krogstad's threat and the letter he had put in the mailbox.

In order to stall her husband from going to get anything from the mail box she comes up with an excuses like this one "Yes , I know i should have, but I cant do anything unless you help me, Torvald. I've forgotten absolutely everything"(203 Ibsen.) This reminds me of a time that i told a lie to my parents so that they didn't have to go to our mailbox to get my report card because I knew that i hadn't gotten decent grades. Anyways, by the end of the act Nora already made a decision of what she was going to do to solve her problem. Since her mailbox has a key she can't get the letter Krogstad had left there so she's trying to stall him until after the tarantella. After that she had said these words "Seven hours till midnight. Then twenty-four hours till midnight tomorrow. Then the tarantella will be over. Twenty and seven........thirty-one hours to live"( 206 Ibsen.) Thun ThunThun..............

Do you think that Nora will actually kill herself and leave the easy way out or will some "miricale"happen that will save her from doing something crazy?

Whats a relationship? Most importantly what a marriage and is it suppose to be filled with lies? Well after reading Act 1 from "A Doll's House" you can tell that Nora is the biggest liar in the world. She reminds me of the movie "Big Fat Liar".

Isn't he cute. HA Ha HA no.. That's what Nora will end up as.

 

Well anyways like i was saying Nora is the biggest liar in the world. Not only did she lie about the macaroons but she betrayed her husband in a way that back in the old days was not forgiven. And on top of that committed a crime. Let me start by saying that that her husband Trovald has the biggest ego ever. If my husband ever called me skylark, squirrel ,or even feature brain lets just say that that would be the last time he were to call me that . But anyways I don't really understand why Trovald forbid Nora to eat macaroons but i do understand why she did lie. But only this time because come one everyone once in  a while needs a little sweet in them.

 

As I was saying Nora did something that I don't think was right. I mean if I had to save my husband's

life and had to tell him I would expect him to be proud but instead of Nora telling Trovald she took manners to her own hands. She made the worst decision which was to trust this corrupted man named Krogstad.  Even though it was to save her husbands life she didn't really have to commit a contraband. So when Nora's childhood friend comes in order for help Nora spills everything to her. Her friends name who is Mrs. Linde asks her when is she going to tell her husband. I mean i would do the same thing, its better for him to find out from her than any other person. And do you know what she says. Well let me tell you she says (in a squeaky and annoying voice) It'd spoil everything between us, and our lovely happy home would never be the same again(Nora 161.) That's really ironic because her family is far from form a lovely happy home. Well anyways Nora has an encounter ment with the worst most corruptest person ever Krogstad. Just hearing his name makes me sick. Well anyways Nora was being blackmailed Krogstad. I knew that would happen, his name has something that gives me the feeling of having chills down my spine. So Krogstad had told Nora in a serous tone to make sure that he kept his job in the bank or else he would tell her husband about her working. So being the person she is she acted as if that didn't affect her at all. Krogstad being the corrupted person he is  said (in a menacing voice) Mrs. Helmer, you obviously don't realize what you've been guilt of ;but let me tell you that the thing that i once did that ruined my reputation was nothing more-and nothing worse - than that. What Krogstad meant was that before Nora's husband getting sick her father had died. So when she need the money to save her husbands life she acted without thinking and forged her fathers signature. With this action that Nora took, Krogstad managed to find a way to blackmailed her. If i was as corrupted as Krogstad i would have probable have done the same thing in order to save my job that is.

After Krogstad left Nora's husband Trovald came home. Main point was that he himself didn't like Krogstad so Nora trying to convince Trovald to have Krogstad keep his post in the bank would be a challenge. Nora being affected by the words of Krogstad asked her husband what he had done and simply said that he had forged some signature (which back in the old days was considered very serious). After that Trovald had said (deep manly voice) Just think how a guilty man like that must have to lie and cheat and play the hypocrite with everyone. How he must wear a mask even with those nearest ans dearest to him- yes, even with his own children- that's the most dreadful thing, Nora(179 Helmer.) After that conversation with her husband at first Nora acts incredulously. But later on freaks out. I mean if i were Nora i would freak out to . She ends up saying (in a low but shaky voice) Corrupt my little children-poison my home? That's not true! It could never, never be true (180 Nora.) Nora, Nora, Nora what have you gotten yourself into child. What have you gotten yourself into?

Hi my name is Ada mostly known as Adaita. I am a weird and unique who is trying to survive her days in high school. I'm Peruvian, Chinese, and Italian. I know what your all thinking "that's a really weird mix" well yeah it is but that's what makes me unique. I'm making this blog for English class because I'm about to read the play A Doll House. My English class it one the very few classes that i do not like. But there are a few things that  i do enjoy doing there. For example when i am given a topic that is arguable i love to express the way that i feel towards that topic and how others my agree or disagree with me.
So like i was saying before I am about to read the play A Doll House written by Henrik Ibsen. Henrik Ibsen was born in the year of 1828 in Skein, Norway. He was the eldest of 5 children after the triadic death of his older brother. At a young age Ibsen learned German and Latin. He always loved painting. He tragically dies at the age of 78 due to series of strokes that he suffered. Last 5 years before his death Ibsen couldn't write due to these series of strokes.
